the section 24 stalls are solid but honestly the best finds are at the stalls that don't look like record stores at all. like there's a guy near soi 32/2 who just has a pile of records under his table mixed with old lamps and stuff. got a mint condition 1976 saeng-aroon record from him for 80 baht. just gotta be patient and dig through the dusty bins

Section 7 is the main cluster for records, but if you go deeper into section 26 near the vintage clothing stalls there's a guy who specializes in Thai soundtracks and spoken word records. He's usually set up across from the old movie poster seller, gray haired guy with a fan blowing on his crates. I've picked up some really obscure 60s Thai film soundtracks there for around 200 baht each, stuff I've never seen anywhere else in the city.

yeah Chatuchak is def the spot for old thai records. there's a handful of stalls in section 7 near the antique zone and also a couple in section 24 that have crates of luk thung and mor lam from the 70s and 80s. prices are usually fair like 100-300 baht per record, way cheaper than those Thonglor shops. just go early before the heat gets bad and bring cash, most stalls don't take card

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
