Anyone here interested?

I also work in recruitment for the energy industry regionally, so if there are any jobseekers,

Silom side gets overlooked for reds stuff, but O'Reillys on Silom Soi 4 shows the games and a few of the Irish lads there are actually Liverpool. quieter than the Sukhumvit spots and no issue getting a seat for the 10pm kickoffs.

on the energy gigs, most of the regional recruiters I know here work off a shared LINE group for leads, so once you're in one the postings kind of find you

If you're anywhere near Phrom Phong, Bradman's on Sukhumvit 23 is worth a look, proper sports bar setup with multiple screens and they actually prioritise football over the rugby most nights. Not a Liverpool-specific crowd but you'll find a few reds in there and the staff will sort you a screen if you ask. Closer to Asoke, there's a small Liverpool supporters group that meets at a bar on Soi Cowboy end of things for the 3am kickoffs, mostly because it's one of the few spots still open and pouring.

On the energy side, I'd say don't sleep on the data centre and grid infrastructure roles, that's where a lot of the regional recruitment money has shifted. Solar and wind get the headlines but the substation and transmission work is quietly hiring hard across Thailand and Vietnam right now.

Mate I run a small energy desk out of Asoke and the Liverpool thing is actually how half my candidates find me, weirdly. The Bangkok Reds LINE group is where I'd start, someone in there will add you, they post kickoff times and which bar has the sound on. We watched the last derby at a place on Soi 11 near the Ambassador, not a footy bar normally but the manager's a red and sorted us the back room.

On the recruitment side, are you perm or contract? Most of the regional energy work here is contract via Singapore agencies so if you're perm-focused you'll be competing with shops that already own the client lists.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
