If one wanted a condo in Thailand, what's the best way to make sure you have a cockroach free room? Stay at 20+ floor? Get your own pest control service beyond what the building provides periodically?

Or will it be a common issue no matter what luxury condo I move to?

Right now I'm in a Airbnb so can bail, but would hate to sign a 1 year contract or buy a property then get stuck with roach roommates.

This is assuming the room is clean, no trash piling up or dirty dishes.

Never saw roaches in serviced apartments, assuming it's because there's no kitchens.

honestly it's more about the building's age and maintenance than the floor level. i've been in a 40th floor unit in thonglor that had roaches because the building's trash chute system was old and not sealed properly. check if the building does monthly fogging in common areas and if the trash room is kept clean.

the serviced apartment thing is real, kitchens and food scraps attract them. if you sign a lease, just add a clause that the landlord handles professional pest control monthly. most will agree to it if you ask before signing.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
