honestly your best bet is hitting up Khlong Toei market early morning, like 6-7am. the produce vendors near the back section by the seafood aisle usually have the softest vine-ripened ones, not the hard gmo-looking ones from the supermarket

if you want a specific contact, try Mai Talay on the south side of the market, she's a older lady with a green cart who grows her own stuff up in Nonthaburi. she's there tuesdays and fridays, the tomatoes are always a bit misshapen but packed with flavor. just ask around for "mae mai maprao" and someone will point u

khlong Toei is solid but if you want really consistent soft ripe ones try the Or Tor Kor market instead, there's a lady named Jib on the fruit side who brings them from Ratchaburi every morning. she usually has them by 8am and they're the kind that bruise if you look at them wrong

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
