Kids Halloween costumes?

We are hoping to do our Christmas shopping for our children while there (we have 10, 5 and 3 yo boys and a 2 yo girl).

Our kids LOVE Halloween but we are from a country with very limited options costume wise (small town New Zealand). Would really appreciate recommendations of where to get cheap Halloween costumes we can bring back home.

Also any markets where we can find cheaply priced toys/clothes with characters they like (Sonic the Hedgehog, Pokémon etc).

Not wanting to break the bank too much but we just don't have this kind of stuff here so would like to get them some clothes/toys while over there. But don't want to spend all our limited time shopping so would love some recommendations on good places to go. Our town only has a populations of 50 000 so the size and choice is quite daunting!

Many thanks for any advice :)

honestly for halloween costumes in bangkok your best bet is mbk center. it's a massive mall near siam and the whole 4th floor is basically cheap knockoff toys and costumes. you'll find sonic and pokemon stuff everywhere, just be ready to bargain a bit. for the 2 year old they'll have smaller sizes too

if you want more market vibes, chatuchak weekend market is the obvious choice but it's only open saturday and sunday. tons of stalls with kids clothes and character stuff, prices are lower than mbk usually. just go early before it gets crazy hot

for christmas shopping honestly most of the big malls like central world have toy sections that'll blow your mind. but if you want cheap, go to the big c supermarket near ratchewiset - they have a whole aisle of character tshirts and small toys for like 100-200 baht each. your boys will lose their minds over the sonic shirts

one tip though - check the sizing carefully. thai sizes run small and "one size fits all" kids costumes might be tight on your 10 year old. better to size up if you're unsure

yeah mbk and chatuchak are solid but if you're short on time try the pratunam market area, it's a whole maze of stalls and shops open daily. loads of cheap pokemon and sonic tshirts for like 100 baht each, plus little accessories and toys. just wander in and out of the side soi

for halloween costumes specifically i'd check the little shops around pantip plaza, it's more electronics but the ground floor sometimes has seasonal stuff. honestly kids that age don't care if it's a bit janky, you can piece together

For Halloween costumes, try the stalls along Khao San Road. It's touristy but they stock a surprising amount of kids' character gear year-round, and you can haggle hard because they expect it. Your 10-year-old might find Sonic or Pokémon shirts there for around 150 baht, and the smaller ones will have plenty of options too.

For toys and clothes, head to the Platinum Fashion Mall near CentralWorld. It's mostly wholesale but they sell single pieces, and the upper floors have loads of cheap kids' clothes with cartoon prints. You'll get 3-4 shirts for what you'd pay for one at home. Just bring cash, most stalls don't take card.

Don't bother with the big department stores for this stuff. The prices are fine but the character selection is pretty generic compared to the market stalls where they import directly from China. You'll get way more variety at the markets for less money.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
