Weed is still widely available and you won't have any problem buying it as a tourist. The government has been talking about reclassifying it for over a year now but nothing has actually changed on the ground. Just walk into any shop with a green cross sign, bring your passport, and they'll sell it to you like a smoothie. Just don't smoke in public or near temples, that's where you might actually get a fine.

honestly the news is just politcians posturing for headlines, nothing's actually changed on the ground. the shops on sukhmvit soi 11 and khao san road are still doing brisk business like always. just bring your passport and cash, most places won't take card for this stuff. if you're worried about quality, ask for "exotic" strains at the higher-end shops near thong lo, they're pricier but way better than the generic stuff

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
