Any techno events/places tonight?

I'm currently in Bangkok and I would love to find some good music tonight. It's pretty difficult and I know the scene isn't the biggest here.

Looking for techno, hard is okay! Alternatively melodic techno or melodic house.

Not really into EDM, techhouse and classic/afro house.

Thank you πŸ™πŸ˜Ž

You could try Glow on Sukhumvit 23 if you want something smaller and more focused on the music. It's a proper listening room setup with Funktion-One speakers and the resident DJs tend to play darker, driving techno. The space is tiny though, maybe 50 people max, so it gets intimate fast.

I've also stumbled into good nights at Studio Lam on Sukhumvit 26, which usually leans dub and reggae but their Friday and Saturday bookings sometimes pull in Berlin-adjacent DJs doing hypnotic stuff. The food there is surprisingly good too, they do northern Thai dishes until late.

The 2am curfew is real and enforced, so plan accordingly. Most places have afterparties that move to someone's condo or a hidden bar, you just need to chat with the right people before closing time.

honestly skip the tourist spots and head to sing sing theater on sukhumvit 45. it's a weird name for a club but they do proper techno nights sometimes, more on the melodic side. the interior is wild, like a chinese opium den meets warehouse rave

if you want something more underground, there's a place called safe room that pops up in different locations, check their ig for tonight. they bring in proper talent and the crowd actually knows their music

decommune on ekkamai is another option, they lean more into deep house but occasionally book solid techno acts. the outdoor area is nice for a breather when it gets too sweaty inside

bangkok is small but passionate, you'll find your people at any of these spots

check out mustache bar on sukhumvit 23, they usually have decent techno on weeknights and tonight should be no different. it's in a small alley off the main soi, look for the black door with the mustache logo. cover is like 300-400 baht, drinks are reasonable for bangkok

if you want something harder, beam on soi 11 sometimes has guest djs spinning proper techno but it's more hit or miss. their sound system is solid though, one of the better ones in the city. i'd check their fb page before heading out

tbh bangkok's techno scene is small but dedicated, you'll find a few heads at either spot. just don't expect berlin levels of intensity

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
