Could be day or evening activity. I already have some ideas, but We've tried most of them elsewhere. But if you know good locations for any of these things, happy to hear it: escape room, axe throwing, archery, whiskey tastings, anything in connection with drinking (paint and draw)...

We're 4 people in our mid 30s who would participate. Grateful for any input!

honestly, i'd skip the axe throwing and check out the whiskey scene at the wallflowers on sathorn 11. it's a tiny bar tucked behind a flower shop and they have a killer selection of japanese and scottish whiskeys, plus the bartenders actually chat with you about what you're drinking. for something active before that, head to play on thong lo for archery - it's a smaller range than bounce but way less crowded on weekdays and the owner is a chill dude who'll give you tips. then grab dinner at the local on silom soi 9, they do a mean khao soi and the vibe is super casual but the food is legit. a 4 person group at those spots feels just right for a birthday without it getting too rowdy

if u want something a bit different, check out sing sing theater on sukhumvit soi 45. it's a cocktail bar designed like a 1920s shanghai opera house with a secret door entrance and the drinks are solid. the whole place feels like a set piece and they do fire shows on certain nights. for the birthday energy, book their private karaoke room in the back - it's velvet booths and disco lights and fits 4 people perfectly. then grab late night noodles at j'khao soi 22, it's a tiny spot that does a killer tom yum mama noodles and stays open till 4am. keeps the night rolling without needing a club

For a birthday with four people in your 30s, I'd skip the generic escape rooms and check out The Iron Balls Distillery on Sukhumvit Soi 26. They do a proper gin and rum tasting session that walks you through their whole process, and the space has a cool industrial vibe that works for a group. If you want something more active beforehand, Bounce Thailand near Thong Lo has a solid archery range and they also do axe throwing, though you'll want to book both slots in advance since it gets busy on weekends. Wrap it up with dinner at a place like Err on Soi Convent for some northern Thai sharing plates and natural wine, it's a relaxed spot that won't feel too stiff for a birthday.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
