Can foreigners easily find "good" jobs in Bangkok?

Like Deal Advisory at KPMG for example. Am I going against the stream applying for them as a foreigner, when having fitting qualifications?

honestly it depends on the level and the firm. big 4 in bkk does hire foreigners for deal advisory and similar roles, but they usually expect you to already have a work permit or be on a sponsored visa. the catch is a lot of those english postings are technically open to locals too, and thai labor law makes it harder to justify hiring a foreigner unless youre senior or have a very niche skill set they cant find locally.

if youre applying from abroad without thai fluency, your best bet is to target roles where your international experience or specific industry knowledge (like cross-border m&a, se asian markets, or a certain sector) is the main value. kpmg and deloitte do have foreign partners and managers, but they tend to hire through their own networks or expat rotations. applying cold off a website isnt impossible but its an uphill battle, especially if the posting doesnt explicitly say "open to foreign applicants".

fwiw, a lot of finance jobs here that dont need thai are in fintech, regional treasury centers, or multinational corp hqs in the eastern seaboard, not just the big 4. maybe check companies like agoda, shopee, or the banks' regional offices in silom. those are more used to hiring foreigners and the pay is usually better anyway.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
