I'd be staying near Charoen Nakhon BTS. Any great food and massage recommendations?

will be there for 4D3N! A very chillax trip to eat (no fine dining my husband is not a fan) as casual diners and have lots of foot massages! will be there for 4D3N! A very chillax trip to eat (no fine dining my husband is not a fan) as casual diners and have lots of foot massages!

your timing is good, the Charoen Nakhon area has a bunch of casual spots that don't feel like a tourist trap. for food, try the food court at ICONSIAM's SookSiam section, it's not fancy at all and has legit street food stalls from all over thailand under one roof, the boat noodles there are solid. for massages, skip the ones right at the BTS exit and walk 5 mins to Soi Charoen Nakhon 30, there's a place called Pimmalai Massage that does 200 baht foot massages and they don't rush you out after

yeah charoen nakhon is great for a chill trip. for food, hit up the Talad Noi area near the river, there's a spot called Jok Prince that does amazing rice porridge, it's super casual and open late. for massages, try Lek Massage on Soi Charoen Nakhon 13, it's small but the foot rubs are solid and like 250 baht for an hour, way better value than the touristy places near the BTS.

Honestly just wander down any soi off Charoen Nakhon and you'll find killer street food, the grilled pork skewers near the pier are legit. For foot massages, there's a solid place called Ruen Nuad just a bit past the BTS, super chill and cheap.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
