Can anyone recommend a good pocket wi-fi service in Bangkok/Thailand?

Don't know too much about sim cards or esims. And I use multiple devices, so a wi-fi best suits me. Can anyone recommend a good service?? Thank you. Don't know too much about sim cards or esims. And I use multiple devices, so a wi-fi best suits me. Can anyone recommend a good service?? Thank you.

honestly unless u really need multiple devices connected all at once, a sim card in a phone with hotspot would be cheaper and way less hassle. but if ur set on pocket wifi, check out the klook app or dtac's tourist shop at suvarnabhumi arrivals. they rent out the little portable routers for like 150-250 baht a day, battery lasts a good 6-8 hours. just return it at the airport before u fly out, super straightforward

fwiw if ur hitting up multiple spots around thailand, the pocket wifi signal can get spotty once ur out of bangkok proper. i'd grab a device from AIS at suvarnabhumi instead of the other carriers, they've got the best LTE coverage up in chiang mai and down the islands. also, those little routers get hot if u leave them in direct sun on a beach day, keep it in ur bag's side pocket not on the sand

If you're landing at Don Mueang instead of Suvarnabhumi, AIS has a counter right near the baggage claim that rents pocket wifi for about 180 baht a day. Their coverage is slightly better outside the city center compared to True or DTAC, which matters if you're heading to places like Ayutthaya or Koh Samet. You'll need to leave a passport copy and a credit card deposit, but the return is just dropping it in the box at the same counter before your flight.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
