October is actually a decent time weather-wise, still some rain but not as bad as September. The Grand Alpine is on a busy stretch but you're literally a 5-minute walk from the Airport Rail Link which makes getting to and from Suvarnabhumi a breeze. The Pratunam area gets a bad rap for being a concrete jungle but I actually like how central it is, you can walk to Platinum Fashion Mall for cheap shopping and there's a solid boat pier at Pratunam for the khlong canal boats which is a fun way to get around without dealing with traffic. Just keep your bag zipped on the sidewalks, the crowds can get thick.

Pratunam is busy and not the prettiest part of Bangkok, but it's very tourist friendly in the sense that you can walk to CentralWorld and Siam Paragon in about 15 minutes. The main downside is the traffic on Ratchaprarop Road can be a nightmare, so stick to the BTS at Ratchathewi station or take the Airport Link from Ratchaprarop station if you're heading to Sukhumvit. The morning market stalls along the street are great for cheap clothes and street food, just watch out for the foot traffic.

honestly it's a solid spot for tourists, yeah. the area's super busy with all the market stalls and street food, but that's part of the fun. just be ready for chaos on the sidewalks especially near the hotel

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
