A dentist for teeth whitening?

Can anyone recommend a dentist for teeth whitening (and a check up)? I don't want to go anywhere questionable and don't mind paying more.

It would be good if they're near a train station.

Thanks

honestly i'd skip the big dental chains and go to BNH Hospital's dental department near BTS Saladaeng. their whitening is around 15k but they use this german whitening system that doesn't make your teeth feel like lightning rods afterward. the checkup includes a legit consultation where they actually look at your gums and bite instead of just poking at cavities. plus you get the hospital vibe which feels more legit than a random clinic in a shophouse

if BNH is too pricey try Dentalon on Soi 49 near BTS Thonglor, it's a smaller clinic but the guy who runs it used to work at BNH so same standards just cheaper. whitening runs about 8k and they do this slow release gel that works over a few days instead of one intense session. way less sensitivity imo

Smile Signature Dental on Soi Phrom Phong is another option, just a few minutes walk from BTS Phrom Phong's Exit 4. Their whitening uses a LED-activated gel that takes about 45 minutes and costs around 9,000 baht. I've had a checkup there and the dentist was thorough without trying to sell me on unnecessary fillings.

Thonglor Dental Clinic is worth a look. It's about a 5-minute walk from BTS Thonglor, tucked into one of the sois off Sukhumvit 55. They use a laser-activated gel for whitening that's less sensitive than the tray-based stuff, around 10,000 baht for a full session. I like them because they don't push extra procedures during a checkup, just clean and tell you what's actually going on.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
