Anyone on carnivore/animal based diet?

I want to have friends to go BBQ with, exchange our favorite restaurants/beef suppliers. If you're a carnivore, let's be friends? I want to have friends to go BBQ with, exchange our favorite restaurants/beef suppliers. If you're a carnivore, let's be friends?

there's a guy at Or Tor Kor market who runs a stall called Beef Brothers, he brings in whole carcasses from a farm in Ratchaburi every thursday. you can tell him what cut you want and he'll slice it right there on the block, i usually grab a couple kilos of ribeye for like 700 baht a kilo which is insane for the quality. for dining out, try The Table in Ekkamai, they do a tasting menu that's basically all meat courses and the chef will talk your ear off about where everything comes from if you catch him on a slow night

honestly theres a spot in Ekkamai called Arno's that does a solid dry aged ribeye tuesdays are half off on certain cuts. not technically a bbq joint but they get their beef from a farm in Kanchanaburi so the quality is legit. for actual bbq i usually hit up Smoke & Spice near Thong Lo the owner is a butcher too so u can buy raw cuts straight from him if you wanna grill at home

I'd suggest swinging by the weekend market at Chatuchak, specifically section 11 where a few vendors sell vacuum-sealed frozen beef direct from farms in Isaan. The cuts aren't pretty but they're grass-fed and cheap, around 400 baht a kilo for chuck. For a proper carnivore meetup, there's a WhatsApp group that organizes grilling sessions at the public park near Bang Krachao, they bring whole pigs sometimes and split the cost. I can send you the invite if you want, just shoot me a message.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
