Somewhere with good food, cozy, and a bunch of TV's all tuned in would be nice. I was told the sportsman bar, but is there anywhere else? Thank you πŸ™.

If you're open to a bit of a drive, head over to The Sports Bar at RCA. It's a two floor setup with projectors and a wall of screens, and the crowd is a mix of locals and expats so it feels less touristy. The food is mostly Thai fusion with some solid wings, and they do a decent happy hour on draft beer until 8pm. It's not as cozy as the Sukhumvit spots, but the energy is way better for a big event.

Another angle: check out the rooftop at Above Eleven on Sukhumvit 24. They don't have a ton of TVs, but they do show the big events on a projector near the bar, and the view of the city at night is hard to beat. Grab a seat at the counter, order the Peruvian chicken skewers, and you're set. Just call ahead to confirm they're airing what you want, since they sometimes switch to music on quieter nights.

soi cowboy has a few spots that show it, but honestly the vibe is more about the crowd than the screens. try the rooftop at tichuca, they got a big screen and the drinks are strong, but it's loud af. for something quieter, there's a small bar on sukhumvit 38 called the local, they only have one tv but the owner's a sports nut and always puts on what u want. food's basic though, think fried rice and spring rolls. if u're near chatuchak, the weekend market has a couple of open-air bars with projectors, but it's a gamble on the weather. my pick would be the sportsman if u're with a group, otherwise i'd just stream it at home with grab food, tbh.

another spot worth checking is the sports bar at the rachadamnoen boxing stadium, they show olympics on the big screens between fights and the energy's wild. food's basic thai stuff but you're there for the atmosphere. or if you want something totally chill, the sportsman's sister bar on sukhumvit 26, called the roundhouse, has a quieter back room with a few tvs and they do a mean burger. honestly any place near asok will be packed, so maybe try the one on soi 11, called the winchester, it's smaller but the owner's a brit who actually cares about the coverage. just grab a seat by the bar early if you want the good angle.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
