Any suggestions and recommendations for cheap but working products, found commonly in 7/11 or nearest convinience stores?

It would mean a lot if you could also give a step by step routine. Thank you :)

I've got 3A hair and have been here four years. To be honest, 7/11 is a bit of a dead end for curly products, they mostly stock Pantene and Sunsilk which are heavy on silicones and will weigh your curls down. Your better bet is Watsons or Boots in any mall, they carry Shea Moisture and sometimes Cantu at reasonable prices, and if you want cheap local stuff, look for the Provamed or Cute Press lines in the haircare aisle.

For a simple routine: co-wash with a silicone-free conditioner (Watsons brand does a decent one), then while still soaking wet in the shower, scrunch in a leave-in or a bit of Cantu curl activator, and plop with a cotton t-shirt for 10 minutes before air drying. Bangkok humidity is actually your friend here, it keeps the frizz down if you don't touch your hair while it dries. The one thing I'd splurge on is a proper clarifying shampoo for once a week, because the sweat and pollution here build up fast.

7/11 near bts stations sometimes has the little sachets of argan oil if ur lucky, the bio hair ones, cheap like 20-30 baht. not a full routine but works for refresh days when ur curls just need a bit of life back. i usually grab a few when i pass through

for actual products though watsons is the move, the one in siam paragon has a whole curly section now. also check out the local brand boots does, their coconut conditioner is like 150 baht and doesnt have the heavy silicones

one thing nobody mentions, the hard water here will wreck ur curl pattern over time. if u can get a shower filter off lazada for like 300 baht it makes a real difference, my hair stopped feeling so straw-like after i got one

There's a small curly community on Facebook groups for expats in Bangkok, that's honestly where I found my routine. The 7/11 sachets are fine in a pinch but you'll burn through them fast for a full wash day.

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
