Former Overweight People of Bangkok, Where are you getting your Semaglutide from in Bangkok?

About to run out. Can you tell me where you got a prescription and what price are you paying. Compounded is fine for me. Compounded is fine for me. I currently pay 11,000 THB per month from my home country and want to be around the same if possible here.

Thanks so much.

fwiw if you're already on 2mg+ the game changes a bit. most places quote the 8-9k price for 1mg and then quietly bump it to 12k+ when you tell them your actual dose. i switched to getting mine from a compounding pharmacy that delivers, called Siam Pharma Lab, they're out near Ratchada but they ship to your place. i pay about 9,500 for a 4 week supply at 1.7mg, and they text me when the batch is fresh so i'm not getting old stock.

the other thing nobody's said is to check if your home country script is actually transferable. some thai clinics want to redo your bloodwork no matter what, that's another 3-4k. i found a place in Ekkamai called Dr. Preecha's clinic that accepted my foreign prescription as-is, just needed a photo of the box and my last vial. consult was 800 baht, no labs required. they're small and not super polished but the doc actually knows the compounding scene here.

if u want to cut the middleman completely, there's a Thai facebook group called "semaglutide ราคาถูก" where people sell overstock from clinics. i've bought twice, paid 6,500 for a 1mg vial. risky if u don't know what to look for, but the label always shows the mg/ml

honestly the telehealth angle is solid but nobody mentioned checking if your insurance covers it, if you have any. some of the local plans through AIA or Bangkok Insurance actually reimburse compounded glp-1s if you get it from a licensed pharmacy, you just need the receipt and a doctor's note. i found that out by accident when i submitted a claim for something else and the rep asked about my semaglutide.

if you're paying out of pocket, the Pharmaholic route near Victory Monument is the best deal i've seen, but the queue can be brutal on weekday afternoons. go right at opening, 9am, and you're in and out in 20 minutes. also, bring your old prescription translated to Thai if you can, the pharmacist there appreciates it and might knock a bit off the consult if you're a repeat customer.

one thing nobody mentioned yet, the 11k you're paying from home might actually be for a higher dose than what you're being quoted here. check your vial's mg per ml first. if you're on 2mg, that 7,500 quote won't apply to you, you're looking at closer to 10k anyway. also, the compounded stuff here sometimes uses a different salt form, semaglutide sodium vs the base, and that can affect how your body responds. worth asking the pharmacist to see the actual API listed.

There's a third option that people tend to overlook: the government hospital route. I go to King Chulalongkorn Memorial Hospital's weight management clinic, and they prescribe compounded semaglutide through their in-house pharmacy. It costs about 6,000 to 7,000 THB a month at the 1mg dose, but you have to sit through the full outpatient process. Bring your old script and they'll usually match the dose without making you redo labs, though the wait can be two hours on a bad day.

The real difference is that they won't push branded Ozempic on you, and the pharmacist actually walks you through the injection technique. It's not as slick as the Thonglor clinics, but the price is the lowest I've found that's still legit. One catch, they sometimes only dispense in 4-week cycles, so if you're mid-titration you might need to time your visit carefully. Also, the compounding formula uses a slightly different buffer, so if you're sensitive to the standard stuff, it's worth asking about the preservative before you commit.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
