try fortune town on the south side near seacon square, there's a whole floor of vintage audio shops. i picked up a sharp gx-2100 there for 700 baht last year, working condition. just bring a friend who can test the speakers and tape deck before you pay

ngl the best spot i've found is actually the basement level at pantip plaza. not the main floors with all the new laptops, go down to where the repair guys are and there's usually a few old dudes with piles of vintage audio gear. i grabbed a sony cfs-300 for like 400 baht there but the belts were shot, cost another 200 to fix at a shop on the same floor. also worth checking the night bazaar at ratchada if you're out late, some of the furniture stalls randomly have boomboxes mixed in with the old lamps and stuff

check out the old school shops on charoen krung road near talad noi. there's a few spots that repair old audio gear and sometimes sell what they fix up. i got a panasonic rx-5200 from a place called baantuaudio for like 500 baht but you gotta haggle. also worth checking the facebook group "bangkok vintage audio marketplace" instead of marketplace itself, less scammers there

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
