The challenge is that the group of guests would be quite diverse, some are party animals, others will bring their kid, yet some are couples who prefer to wine and dine.

It would be afternoon until evening.

Something with a view and/or a pool would be a plus but nothing too high up either. It should still be accessible.

No one is on a budget but we aren't looking for Michelin star fine dining either. Mid budget I guess.

Any ideas would be much appreciated!

Ngam Du Dee in Thonglor fits what you're describing. It's a big garden restaurant with a pool right there, not some rooftop thing, so kids can splash while you're seated nearby eating. The food is Thai fusion, decent portions, and they do a solid cocktail menu so the wine and dine crowd won't feel shortchanged.

It's open air with a covered section too, so afternoon heat won't kill you. Price is mid-range, think 800-1200 baht per person for a full spread with drinks. Just call ahead for a reservation by the pool, that side fills up fast on weekends.

honestly, if you want a pool with a view but not too high up, check out The Yard in Ari. it's a hostel but their cafe and pool area is open to the public, super chill vibe. kids can splash around while adults grab a drink from the bar, and they do food too. plus Ari has tons of little restaurants nearby if you wanna move the party later.

I'd say check out The Commons in Thonglor. It's an open-air community mall with a few different food vendors and a nice rooftop bar called Takieng. The space is casual enough for kids to run around while adults grab a glass of wine from the wine bar on the second floor. It's not a pool or view spot, but the vibe is relaxed and you can let people wander between different food stalls and seating areas without feeling stuck.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
