there's a spot called cloud nine on suk soi 11 that does these little thc coconut oil capsules, not really an edible in the brownie sense but u just swallow one with water and it kicks in after 45 mins. no smell no taste, way more discreet if ur not into the whole smoking vibe. they're like 200 baht for a pack of four, each one is about 20mg i think. start with one and see how u feel, those things hit different on an empty stomach.

if u want something stronger than the cafe gummies, check out the shops on sukhumvit soi 22, it's a quick grab ride from soi 11. places like cookies delight or the dispensary on that strip have proper thc chocolates and hard candies, not just the weak 10mg stuff. just bring cash, some places charge extra for card and the prices vary like 300-600 baht depending on potency. also, the thai edibles at 7-eleven are mostly a scam for tourists, stick to the actual weed shops

honestly suprised no one's mentioned the weed cafes on suk soi 11 itself, there's like three on the main strip now. most sell gummies and brownies, just ask for "food menu" when u walk in. the high isn't as intense as smoking but it lasts way longer so start slow, like half a gummy and wait an hour. u can also grab thai edibles at some 7-elevens near nana but those are mostly cbd blends, not the real deal

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
