Are they any PsyWards or holding place for people who have a high risk of unalive themselves?

Place like Fairfax Mental Health, WA.

Preferred no public or private hospitals.

If you're looking for something outside the hospital system entirely, there's not much legally set up for that in Bangkok. A few private psychiatrists run intensive outpatient programs where they'll see you daily or every other day for medication adjustments and talk therapy, but you'd need to arrange your own safe housing nearby. Dr. Woraphat at the Bangkok Mental Health Center on Sukhumvit Soi 49 does this kind of structured care for high-risk patients, though it's not a live-in facility. Srithanya is the only place with a proper holding unit, but it's a government psychiatric hospital and the experience can be rough.

Bangkok doesn't have standalone PsyWards like Fairfax. The closest you'd get outside a hospital setting is at places like Somdet Chaopraya Institute of Psychiatry in Thonburi, which has an acute care unit for high-risk cases, but that's still a government psychiatric hospital, not a private clinic. If you need something more intensive, the government-run mental health crisis centers at Rajanukul Institute or Srithanya Hospital have short-term holding units for stabilization, usually a few days to a week. Fair warning, these are public facilities so expect long waits and limited English, but they're a step down from a full hospital ER.

honestly, theres a place called the Mental Health Crisis Center near Ladprao that not many people know about. its tucked away on Soi Ladprao 94, not attached to any hospital, and they have short term beds for people in crisis. i had to take a friend there once and it was pretty bare bones but the staff were decent and they kept him for about 3 days until he stabilized.

the other option that nobody mentioned is the Samitivej Srinakarin psych unit, but i know you said no hospitals. their crisis team does home visits though, which is different. theyll come to you for assessment and can arrange daily check ins without you having to stay anywhere. costs about 3000 baht per visit which is steep but it keeps you out of a facility.

if you really need somewhere to crash thats not a hospital, some of the bigger temples like Wat Saket have relationships with mental health outreach teams and can put you in a monk cell overnight with someone checking on you. its not medical but its a safe space with people around who wont judge. youd need a social worker to set that up though, cant just show up.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
