I have a coworker asking me if there is a wet market where he can go buy fish for consumption, like live fish in a tank. I said maybe Chatuchak, but I wasn't sure about anywhere else? Or Tor Kor market near Chatuchak actually has a solid live fish section, though it's more known for produce. It's cleaner than Klong Toey and the fish tanks are right by the seating area where they'll cook it for you. Tell him to go to the far left side near the food stalls, that's where the big tanks with pla kapong and pla nin are.

yeah chatuchak's more for plants and random stuff. tell him to hit up talat soi lom or or tor kor market, both have live fish tanks and way less touristy than klong toey

Chatuchak has some fish but it's more of a weekend general market. For live fish in tanks, your coworker should check out Talad Thai in Pathum Thani or Klong Toey market early in the morning. Klong Toey is closer to central Bangkok and the seafood section is massive, with fish swimming in tanks right there. Just go before 7am for the best selection and freshest catch.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
