immortal bar on ekkamai is the spot for hardcore stuff, they do shows pretty often. check their facebook for what's on when you're here. also the rock pub on silom has random metal nights but it's a bit more touristy. if you want real dive energy, bar 23 in khao san area still has punk kids hanging out sometimes

If you're hitting Bangkok next week, check out The Overstay on Sukhumvit 31. It's a small bar that leans heavy into punk and hardcore, they host local bands pretty regularly and the vibe is DIY as hell. The owner used to book shows at the old Immortal spot so there's some crossover. Also keep an eye on the Facebook page for "Bangkok Hardcore" they sometimes post last minute gigs at warehouses near Bang Na that aren't listed anywhere else. The Rock Pub on Silom is fine for a touristy metal fix but it won't scratch that underground itch.

yeah the rock pub silom is decent but for real punk energy check out the club in the basement of that old building near victory monument, think it's called the attic or something, they have crust bands playing all the time

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
