Best "Halal" Pad Kaprow in Bangkok?
For halal pad kaprow in Bangkok, I've had good luck at restaurants near the Nana area on Sukhumvit Soi 3. There's a spot called Jaiyen that does a decent version with chicken or beef, though they lean a bit heavy on the prik. You might also check out some of the halal food stalls inside the Al Meroz Hotel buffet on Ramkhamhaeng, they often have it made fresh with holy basil.
if you're near the old town, there's a halal spot called Khao Soi Islam on Charoen Krung, they do a mean pad kaprow with beef or chicken, real fragrant basil and not too oily. also check out the little stalls around Pahurat market, they sometimes have it with a fried egg on top for like 40 baht
honestly, i'd hit up the halal food court in the basement of MBK Center, there's a stall near the back that does a killer pad kaprow with crispy pork substitute, not sure if it's technically holy basil but it hits the spot
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
