VAT Chaperone Service? Agent?

Anyone know of an agent I can hire for a modest fee to help my aging parents with the VAT refund at the airport? Anyone know of an agent I can hire for a modest fee to help my aging parents with the VAT refund at the airport?

For Suvarnabhumi, the VAT refund desks are in Departures Level 4 near Row R, and they open at 5 AM. Your parents can skip the line by going to the small customs inspection booth first if their items are over 50,000 baht or look expensive, then head straight to the refund counter. No agent needed, just have the receipts and passport ready, and they'll get cash on the spot. If they're flying from Don Mueang, the process is similar but tucked away near Gate 3, so give them an extra 20 minutes.

never seen a proper agent for this tbh, but some of the tour companies near khao san road offer "airport assistance" packages that include vat stuff. like the guys at mama travel on rambuttri, they do a 500 baht service where someone meets your parents at the departure gate and handles the whole vat runaround. not sure how reliable it is though, might be better to just get them a wheelchair service from the airline, those staff are super helpful and usually know the shortcuts at swarnabhumi.

honestly never heard of anyone offering that as a service, most people just do it themselves. if they're worried about the process, maybe just write out step by step on a card in thai and english, the customs officers at bkk are used to helping confused tourists. the cash refund is at the vat counter past immigration near the king power duty free, they can grab it right before boarding

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
