Part time nanny kind of jobs?

Something which balances my desire to have enough time to go Do Things, but earn enough for a an el-cheapo apartment?

Are there any "best" job sites for this kind of work?

honestly if you're looking for something more flexible than a school, you might have better luck with private tutoring through facebook groups like "Bangkok TEFL Teachers" or "Bangkok Babysitters". I've seen people find families in Thonglor or Ekkamai who want a native speaker for their kids a few hours a day, usually 300-500 baht an hour cash. Just be upfront about your schedule so they don't expect full-time hours

for nanny work specifically, check out the website "Thai Babysitters" but they're more for long-term live-in gigs. the part-time stuff is word of mouth through expat mom groups on facebook, so join a couple of those and post what you're offering. you can prob find a room in a cheap condo near On Nut for like 5-6k a month if you're okay with a studio, which is doable on 15-20 hours a week of nannying at that rate

Private tutoring through agencies like "Best English Tutor" or "Tutorama" might be worth a look. They match you with families in areas like Sathorn or Ari, and you can set your own hours. The pay is usually 400-600 baht an hour, and they handle the awkward part of finding clients.

If you're leaning more toward nanny work, the facebook group "Bangkok Expats: Jobs & More" sometimes has posts from families looking for part-time help. Just be clear you're not after a full-time gig. A room near Bang Chak BTS on the Sukhumvit line can be around 4k a month if you don't mind a bit of a walk to the station.

Yeah, the TEFL route is fine but if you're after flexibility, look into "au pair" style gigs on sites like Aupair.com. Some families in Bangkok will trade a room for a few hours of English playtime with the kids, which could be your cheap apartment solution right there.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
