Is there a different fees to enter Damnoen Saduak Floating Market?

Image idamarie local ·

yeah theres no entry fee to get into the market itself, just the boat ride costs. the 300 baht price is standard for tourists but if u walk a bit further from the main pier you'll find smaller boat operators willing to do 200 baht. tbh the whole market is kinda touristy and overpriced compared to something like Khlong Lat Mayom which is way more local and cheaper, but if you want the classic floating market photo op then Damnoen Saduak is still the one

You'll find two separate fees. The first is the entry to the market itself, which is free if you just walk along the main walkways. The second is for the boat rides, which start around 300 baht per person for a basic hour-long trip, and that price is definitely negotiable if you show up early before the tourist crowds hit. Just keep an eye on your valuables on the boats, the canals can get crowded and bumpy.

honestly just skip the whole entry fee thing and go straight to the boat pier. there's no actual gate fee for the market itself, the 300 baht boat fee is the main cost but if you haggle hard you can get it down to 200. the trick is to go on a weekday, weekends are a zoo and the prices are way higher. also don't bother with the tourist package that includes a paddle through the canals, it's just a longer version of the same thing

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
