honestly skip mbk for airpods max reps, the metal ones there are usually zinc alloy not aluminum and you can tell by the weight. try saphan lek (the old siam square side) or head to fortune town on the second floor, few shops there carry the 1561m chip and the build is closer to real. expect to pay around 1800-2200 baht for the good ones, anything under 1500 is prob gonna have plastic hinges
if you're set on mbk, go up to the 5th floor instead of the usual spots. there's a shop near the escalator that mostly does phone repairs but they keep a few airpods max reps under the counter. ask for the "metal frame" version specifically, they'll know what u mean. the 1561m chip ones are usually 2000 baht there but you can haggle down to 1800 if you act like you're not sure. just check the serial on the box before you pay, some of their stock has mismatched numbers
yeah there's a guy on the 4th floor near the food court, small stall with a glass case, he's got the 1561m ones and the weight is pretty good. i got mine there like 4 months ago and they still work fine, just make sure to test ANC before you pay because some batches have issues with that

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
