I am considering studying in Thailand and would love to hear from Thai people about their experiences and insights.

Could you please share your thoughts on the following?

1.How safe is Thailand for international students? 2.How convenient is it to live and study in Thailand as a foreign student? 3.I am passionate about boxing and want to continue training for a professional career. Are there good facilities and opportunities for boxing in Thailand? 4.I am also interested in studying business. How are the business programs and educational institutions in Thailand?

Living in Bangkok as a student is more about managing the chaos than worrying about danger. The heat and traffic will test your patience more than any safety concern, honestly. Get a condo near a BTS station, budget around 12,000 to 15,000 baht for a decent studio in areas like Phra Khanong or Udomsuk, and life becomes pretty manageable.

For boxing, you need to decide if you want the tourist experience or a real fighter's path. Gyms like FA Group in Phra Khanong or Sor Vorapin in Saphan Khwai attract serious foreign fighters but expect you to train twice a day with very little coddling. A month of training with accommodation usually runs 10,000 to 15,000 baht, and some gyms let you work off part of the fee by helping around.

Business programs outside the big three are worth a look. Assumption University has a practical international business curriculum with more flexibility for working students, and their campus in Bang Na is near the BTS. The networking at Chula is strong, but Assumption's career center actually helps place students in companies like PwC and KPMG, which matters more than the university's name on your resume.

a few things the others didn't really touch on. the student visa requires you to report to immigration every 90 days, which is annoying but you can do it online now if you're on an ED visa. just don't forget or you get a fine.

for boxing, if you're serious about fighting professionally you need to pick a gym with actual stadium fighters. sitjaopho in on nut is legit, they have fighters at rajadamnern every week. training costs around 15k-20k baht a month with accommodation, cheap by western standards but the trainers will push you hard. just know that most gyms expect you to commit to morning and evening sessions if you want to fight.

business programs at chula are fine but the real value is the networking. thai students there are mostly from wealthy families, so if you're looking to build connections for future business in asia that's where you want to be. kasetsart has a decent program too with more hands-on projects.

Safety-wise, Bangkok is generally fine for international students as long as you use common sense like anywhere. Petty theft happens on crowded BTS trains or buses, but violent crime against foreigners is rare. For convenience, getting around is a breeze with the BTS Skytrain and Grab app, though rush hour taxis can be a nightmare.

For boxing, you're in the right place. There are serious Muay Thai gyms all over the city, like Jitmuangnon in Nonthaburi or Sitjaopho in the On Nut area. Many of them train fighters for the big stadiums, and you can usually join a program that fits around your class schedule.

Business programs are solid, especially at Chulalongkorn and Thammasat. Chula has a good international business program taught in English, and the fees are much lower than what you'd pay in the West. The catch is that some courses can be theory-heavy, so you might want to supplement with practical internships at local startups.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
