What's your favorite western-style Bangkok restaurant?

Somehow they have managed to recreate authentic New Orleans food in Bkk for half of what you'd pay in New Orleans. And soooooo many items on their menu are tasty and can't be found elsewhere. The portions are great size too. m not really sure how they do it.

Some runners up: El Toro House of Meat - wonderful steaks at wonderful prices

17 Something - best bang for your buck on western style food that. Most points come from being cheaper than other offerings

Birds Rotisserie- Awesome chicken, but really overpriced for what you get

I'm always searching for new places to try. What's your top?

honestly i'm surprised no one's mentioned L'olivier yet. it's this tiny french place off sukhumvit 26 that does a proper coq au vin and the owner actually brings in wine from his family's vineyard in provence. not cheap but way more authentic than the hotel french places

if you want something more casual, The Missing Burro on ekkamai has the best fish tacos i've found in bangkok. they use actual corn tortillas not flour and their salsa verde is legit spicy. plus their margaritas are 180 baht during happy hour which is pretty good for that area

I keep going back to The Great Hornbill on Sathorn 12. It's run by a South African chef who does a killer peri-peri chicken that actually has heat, unlike most places that tone it down for the local crowd. Their bobotie is the real deal too, and it's rare to find that dish outside of Cape Town. Prices are reasonable for that area, mains usually around 350-400 baht.

Bourbon Street is solid but I think The Pasta Project in Thonglor flies under the radar.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
