My wife is working on the long weekend and we just got back from a 2-week family holiday in Samui during Songkran.

I don't feel like sitting at home during the long weekend since I never know what to do in Bangkok on my own.

What are you planning to do? Looking for some ideas. Thanks!

ngl the solo movie thing is underrated in Bangkok. hit up House Samyan or Apex on Sathorn, both have those proper indie flicks you won't catch at Paragon. cheap too, like 120-180 baht for a ticket and teh crowd's always chill.

if u want something more active, grab a longtail from Saphan Taksin pier and just ride around the smaller klongs for an hour. costs like 300 baht if u haggle and you'll see a whole different side of the city without the crowds.

my go-to solo move is hitting up the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre on a saturday morning when it's still quiet. wander the galleries for an hour then grab a seat at the rooftop cafe, watch the crowd build up below. after that i'll walk over to the Jim Thompson House tour, it's like 200 baht and the guide stories are way more interesting than i expected. wraps up around lunch so you can grab khao soi at this spot on Soi Kasemsan 2, the line moves fast since it's just you

honestly just pick a random BTS station you never get off at and explore the area. did that near On Nut once and found a killer little soba place tucked away

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
