Anyone has any experience of successfully applying for Permanent Residence in Thailand and what agency did you use?

tbh the PR process is more about proving you belong here than just having the right docs. the immigration officers at Chaeng Wattana will ask you really random stuff about your daily life in Bangkok, like what soi you live on or what market you shop at. i went with BLS Legal Services and they were decent, not as expensive as Siam Legal but still thorough. one thing that caught me off guard was the requirement to have a thai bank account with consistent deposits for at least 2 years, so start that early even if you're not ready to apply yet

honestly, permanent residence here is a beast of a process. most people i know who got it used either Siam Legal or Bangkok Legal, but they're pricey. if you're going the marriage route, the process is slightly less insane but still takes a year or two. the key thing nobody tells you is to get ur tax records in order first, the revenue department check is where most applications stall

another route to look into is the investment-based PR, if you have the capital for it. you need to park like 10 million baht in thai gov bonds or a thai company for a few years, and the immigration bureau actually processes those faster than the marriage or work ones from what I've seen. my friend went through Siam Legal for that and it took about 14 months, but he had all his bank statements and source of funds ready before they even asked. the biggest headache is the language test, they actually make you do an interview in thai so start practicing now

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
