Business networks/communities for new expats?
Not nece… As a new expat in town, what business communities, networking events, chambers of commerce etc. would you recommend to build your network (either/both professional network or social circle)?
Not necessarily looking for concrete business opportunities but rather building my network, meeting people, having interesting conversations, helping each other as expats, learning (and sharing) etc.
the australian chamber does good events too, the new frontiers series is usually at pretty interesting venues around sukhumvit. for a totally different vibe, check out the creative talk meetups at warehouse 30 in charoenkrung, it's more artsy and design-focused but the crowd is really open and curious. also just hanging at the commons on thonglor during weekday afternoons, you'll randomly meet freelancers and founders working from there
if you're into more informal stuff, the Bangkok Young Professionals group on facebook is pretty active. they do coworking meetups at places like hubba on ekkamai and random bar nights. also worth checking out the american chamber of commerce events even if you're not american, their speaker series at the dresden is solid for learning while networking
tbh the Bangkok Expats Club on meetup is pretty good for casual networking. they do monthly drinks at different spots around town and it's super low pressure. also check out the British Chamber of Commerce events, even if you're not British they're open to anyone and the mix is solid
best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026
yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
