I've been in Bangkok for a few days now and honestly the heat is killing me. I'm downing waters but have felt faint multiple time.

I'm having difficulty even going sightseeing or doing anything. My hotels room air conditioning isn't even helping.

How do you all stay cool?

if your hotel ac is weak, try wetting a thin sarong or towel and draping it over a chair in front of the fan, the evaporative cooling is legit. also hit up a mall like Siam Paragon or CentralWorld around 2pm, they keep the AC at like 18 degrees and you can just wander for an hour without spending a thing. for sightseeing, plan everything before 10am or after 4pm, the midday sun is no joke even for locals

honestly the salty orange drink tip is solid but also try the sugarcane juice from street stalls, it's like 10 baht and gives u a quick energy boost too. another thing that saved me was those portable neck fans, you can grab one at MBK for like 200 baht and theyre way more effective than hand fans. also if you're feeling faint, just duck into any 7-Eleven for 10-15 mins, the AC in those is usually cranked way higher than hotels and nobody will bother you

You might be low on electrolytes, not just water. Grab a bottle of the salty orange drink from 7-Eleven, or ask for nam manao at any shop -- it's fresh lime juice with salt and sugar. Also, BTS and MRT stations are freezing, so you can plan your route to pass through a few and cool down between stops. If your hotel AC is weak, ask them to check the filter or switch rooms, it's a common issue.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
