Used PS5 prices at Mega Plaza have been pretty steady since last year. A standard disc version fat model will run you around 12,000-14,000 baht used, while the slim models are closer to 15,000-17,000. New ones at Sony stores or Power Buy are still 18,890 baht for the slim, so you're saving maybe 3,000-5,000 baht going used at Mega.

The catch is that most of those used units are imports from Japan or Singapore, so the warranty is basically nil. Some shops on the 3rd and 4th floors will test it in front of you, which is worth asking for. If you want a safer bet with a Thai warranty, check the used section at Advice or JIB on the ground floor of Fortune Town instead.

If you're set on Mega Plaza, the prices people mentioned are about right, but timing matters. Weekday afternoons are better for negotiating since the shops are quieter, and some vendors on the 4th floor near the escalator will knock off 500-1,000 baht if you pay cash. The slim models are mostly from Japan and tend to have the disc drive region-locked for Blu-rays, so if you want to play 4K movies from local stores, check that before buying.

New PS5s at Mega Plaza aren't much cheaper than retail, maybe 500-1,000 baht off, but they're often grey market imports with no Thai warranty. If you want new with a proper warranty, the Sony Store at Central World or the Power Buy at Central Rama 9 will price match if you ask, and you'll get the full 2-year coverage. For used, the price gap between a fat and a slim is usually around 2,000-3,000 baht, and I'd take the fat if it's in good shape since the internal storage difference is minor and you can always add an SSD later.

honestly i'd skip mega plaza for a ps5 and hit up fortune town instead, it's just a 10 min walk from phra ram 9 mrt and the prices are usually a bit lower. the used ones at fortune are mostly imports too but you can haggle more since it's less touristy than mega plaza. i saw a fat disc version for 11,500 baht there last week, and the slim was like 14,000 which is a bit under what mega plaza asks. if you want new, the shops at fortune sell them for around 17,500-18,000 baht which is cheaper than the official sony stores, just make sure it's a Thai unit so you get the warranty

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
