Cheap or Hidden places to buy interesting gadgets/collectibles/accessories?

I'm visiting Bangkok and would like to see places that sell more than simply just clothes. I've been to Pratunam, MBK, the malls surrounding Siam area, Terminal 21, etc. Where else can I go to find in… I'm visiting Bangkok and would like to see places that sell more than simply just clothes. If you're into secondhand electronics and oddball components, walk through Ban Mo market near the Giant Swing. It's mostly wholesale circuit boards and LED strips, but there are stalls tucked in the back selling old multimeters, vintage lenses, and display cases from defunct shops. The prices are a third of what you'd see at MBK for similar junk. Just go on a weekday morning when the shop owners aren't busy and will actually chat with you about what's worth picking up.

For something different, try the small shops along Charoen Krung Road near the River City area. There are a few vintage and antique dealers tucked into old shophouses that sell old cameras, military surplus, and weird brass knick-knacks you won't find at Chatuchak. If you're into DIY or electronics, head to Ban Mo near the Giant Swing for surplus components and oddball display cases. The prices are better than MBK for that kind of stuff.

honestly skip the whole tourist gadget scene and head to Saphan Lek, the old bridge area near Yaowarat. it's a mess of stalls selling everything from vintage watches to old school japanese toys and weird buddhist amulets that dealers actually fight over. the back alleys have guys selling loose gemstones and old military patches if you dig through the boxes, just bring cash and be ready to haggle in thai numbers or they'll quote you triple.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
