How can I go about getting a doctor visit or delivered meds?

We can't leave our bed without nearly passing out so I don't think I can walk me and my bf to a doctors. This is my first time in Bangkok and needing medical help in BKK. If anyone has any advice or would be much appreciated:)

the others gave u solid app recs so i'll skip that. if u're in a condo or apartment, check if ur building has a concierge or even a nearby pharmacy on grab that does "motorbike delivery". they'll bring the meds right to ur door, no app needed sometimes, just call the pharmacy directly. for the actual doctor, if u really can't move, some private hospitals like bumrungrad do "home visit" services but it's gonna cost u a few thousand baht. honestly for flu, a video consult with a thai doc on raksa is like 300 to 500 baht and they'll prescribe the same stuff anyway. one thing nobody mentioned: get oral rehydration salts, not just coconut water, especially if u've been sweating from the fever. the heat here plus flu dehydration is a nasty combo, u can get those little sachets at any pharmacy or even 7-eleven for like 15 baht. also check ur bf's fever, if either of u has a rash or stiff neck that's a red flag and u need the er regardless of how u feel. rest up, songkran flu hits everyone differently.

hey if u cant move at all then call 1669, that's the emergency medical hotline, they speak english and can send an ambulance if it's bad. but if it's just flu, try the app "Raksa" or "Gowabi", doctors do video consults and pharmcies like meds on wheels deliver within a few hours. honestly the bts is a death sentence rn with the heat and ur fever, so don't even think about dragging urself to a hospital unless u need an IV drip. if u do end up going, samitivej or bnh are the usual expat picks but they're pricey, a local clinic near u will be way cheaper and fine for flu. drink heaps of coconut water and get some ya paracetamol from 7-eleven delivery on grab if u just need to break the fever first.

yeah that hotline reply is solid but also check out the "wemeds" app, it's been around awhile and does same day delivery for flu stuff like tamiflu if u need it, their docs are thai but they speak english fine over chat. honestly for passed out level flu you might just need saline, so if u can muster it, a "soi clinic" near u will do a drip for like 300 baht and u'll feel human again in an hour, way less than the big hospitals. grab food delivery also has pharmacies listed, u can search "pharmacy" on the app and order rehydration salts and those little orange vitamin c drinks, they're lifesavers. if ur fever's been over 3 days straight that's when u should drag urself to a real er, but for now just sip the coconut water and keep a fan on u, the humidity here makes flu feel way worse than it is

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but I've always found their som tam a bit tame on the pla ra. If you want the real funky version, try the shophouse spots along Soi Udomsuk 26, near the night market end. They pound it fresh with fermented fish that'll clear your sinuses, and it's like 60 baht. Different style from the On Nut places, more Lao-leaning.

for som tam specifically i'd say the Isaan spots in Chatuchak are underrated, weekdays only though since the weekend crowd ruins the vibe. there's a stall near gate 2 that does tam pa with fermented bamboo shoots, super sour and funky, not something you see much in On Nut. if you're already heading north for Or Tor Kor anyway its worth the detour.

honestly the som tam at Krua Dok Mai Kao is good but what got me hooked is their nam prik pla raa dip with the raw veggies, that funk hits way harder than the papaya does. think most people sleep on it cuz they just order the som tam and gai yang. also pro tip, go before noon on weekdays, after that teh pla ra gets milder cuz they batch it for the lunch rush
