Best english speaking hospitals in Bangkok?

I am thinking about going to Bangkok International Hospital, Samitivej Hospital or Bumrungrad International Hospital. Which of these is the best or alternatively is there any other options? Bangkok Hospital on Soi Soonvijai is worth considering too. It's not as flashy as Bumrungrad but the international wing there is solid and the prices are a bit more reasonable. I've noticed their pharmacy is better stocked than most, especially for harder to find medications.

If you're paying out of pocket, check if your insurance has direct billing with whichever hospital you pick. Bumrungrad and Samitivej both handle it smoothly but Bangkok Hospital can sometimes be a hassle with paperwork. The new Samitivej building on Srinakarin is also an option if you're out that way, it's less busy than the Sukhumvit branch.

I've been to all three and honestly it depends on what you need. Samitivej Sukhumvit is my go-to for routine stuff like checkups or minor issues, the process is just smoother and the doctors I've seen there have been great. Bumrungrad is like a five star hotel with prices to match, you're paying for the prestige and convenience of having every specialist under one roof.

For anything dental or eye related, I'd pick Samitivej over Bumrungrad. Their dental clinic on the ground floor is excellent and way less expensive than Bumrungrad's. Bangkok International on Petchaburi is fine for basic emergencies like stitches or a bad flu, they'll sort you out in English no problem, but I wouldn't trust them for anything requiring a proper diagnosis.

One thing to keep in mind is parking. Bumrungrad has a massive parking building but it still fills up by mid morning. Samitivej Sukhumvit's parking is a nightmare, I always take a taxi there. Bangkok International has the easiest parking of the three if you drive.

bumrungrad is the most popular with expats and english speakers, no doubt. but honestly, samitivej sukumvit is just as good and usually less crowded, especially if you go early morning. bkk international (the one on petchaburi right?) is fine for basic stuff but i wouldnt go there for anything complex.

if you need a specialist, bumnrungrad has the widest range of doctors who trained abroad. just be prepared to pay for it, consultations there run around 1500-2500 baht depending on the doc. samitivej is slightly cheaper but still excellent, their maternity ward is top notch.

one thing nobody mentions is the wait times. bumnrungrad can be a zoo in the afternoon, like 2-3 hours easy. samitivej is smoother. both have english speaking staff throughout, you wont have any language issues.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
