Music festival drinks prices in Bangkok?

I'm thinking of going to a music festival here. Can anyone tell me if there are reasonably priced drinks there or if they tend to be quite expensive? I'm thinking of going to a music festival here. Can anyone tell me if there are reasonably priced drinks there or if they tend to be quite expensive?

honestly depends on the festival. the big ones like 808 or Wonderfruit will hit you with 180-250 baht for a beer and mixers can go up to 350. smaller indie fests around Khao San or RCA are more chill, like 100-120 for a Singha. my trick is to sneak in a flask or grab a few drinks at 7-Eleven before entering, just don't get caught at the gate. also check if the festival allows re-entry, some do and you can pop out to a nearby bar.

The real trick is finding out what kind of festival it is before you go. A lot of the electronic or EDM-heavy ones at venues like Live Park or BITEC are run by the same promoters and they all charge the same 200+ baht for a Leo. But if you hit something like the Bangkok Street Music Fest or a smaller gathering at a place like The Commons, they often have sponsor tents where you can get a free drink or two with a wristband. Also, some festivals sell tokens at a slight discount if you buy a sheet of them early, so ask at the ticket booth before you queue at the bar.

yeah the big commercial ones like 808 or Wonderfruit are brutal, but some smaller local festivals like the ones at Stone Rock or even the occasional DJ set at Singha Park keep it around 120-150 for a beer. honestly if you're trying to keep costs down, pre-game hard at a street stall near the venue - there's always a cart selling cold Chang for 40 baht a bottle, just chug it before you walk in. also check if the festival lets you bring empty bottles, some have water refill stations and you can just sneak booze in that way

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
