180 baht mini bus service to don mueang Airport near Khao San Road - too good to be true?

Was walking near khao San Road and saw a shop selling tickets for a mini bus service to both airports for only 180 baht. 180 seems quite low, is there a catch to these services or should I stay away? yeah they're legit, been using them for years. the catch is they drop you at the bus terminal area not right at the departures gate, so you have to walk maybe 5 mins or take the free shuttle inside. also if you're checking bags with airasia or nok air they sometimes have a separate check-in area near that bus drop-off anyway, so it works out

nah it's legit, those are the official AOT (Airports of Thailand) minibuses. they run from khao san to both airports every 30 mins or so, 180 baht is actually the standard price for don mueang route. suvarnabhumi is a bit more i think

the only catch is sometimes they wait til the van fills up before leaving, so you might sit there for 15-20 mins if you're unlucky. also traffic on phahonyothin road can be brutal during rush hour, budget at least an hour for the trip. but for 180 baht vs a 500+ baht taxi, it's a solid deal

It's fine but the minibus might not run on a strict schedule so check the return times if you're coming back the same day.

best som tam in Bangkok? Krua Dok Mai Kao 2026

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
