You can find something in that range but it's going to be a studio or a small one-bedroom in an older building, nothing fancy. Look around On Nut or Bang Na along the BTS line, or go deeper into Sukhumvit soi 50-70 where the rent drops fast. Avoid Phra Khanong and Ekkamai if you're on a strict budget, those areas have gone up a lot. Facebook groups like "Bangkok Condos for Rent" tend to have direct owner listings that skip the agent fees, and you can negotiate a 2-month stay more easily there.

another option is checking the condo lobbies themselves in areas like Lat Phrao or Saphan Khwai, some buildings have notice boards where owners post directly for short stays. i found my place that way, 6500 a month near Saphan Khwai BTS, older building but clean and quiet. walk around soi 1 to soi 15 off Lat Phrao road, lots of small condos there with security and basic furniture. just ask the juristic office if they know any units available for 2 months, sometimes they'll point u to a owner who doesn't bother listing online

honestly 7k is doable but u gotta look outside the tourist bubble. try areas like Ratchada or Huai Khwang, plenty of older buildings with basic studios in that range and the MRT makes it easy to get around. I'd check the Thai rental sites like DDproperty or Hipflat, filter by price and sort by newest listings. agents on those sites are more used to short term deals than the Facebook groups tbh. just expect a fan room vibe, no pool or gym, maybe a bit of street noise but it's fine for 2 months

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
