honestly just take the BTS to Saphan Taksin and hop on the Chao Phraya express boat heading north. get off at N13 for a sunset drink at Sala Rattanakosin, the rooftop bar has a straight-on view of Wat Arun lit up at golden hour. it's a bit pricey for a cocktail but the view is worth it, and the vibe is way more intimate than the sky bars.

for something low-key, grab a basket of mangoes and sticky rice from the stalls near Khlong Toei market and have a picnic at Benchakitti Park. the elevated walkway through the wetlands is surprisingly peaceful for being in the middle of the city, especially on a weekday evening when it's empty.

take the skytrain to thong lor and wander down soi 55, there's this little spot called the common that's like a pop-up food market with fairy lights and couches, super chill for just hanging out and tasting different things together. for something romantic at night, catch a movie at the scala theater near siam square, it's this old-school cinema from the 60s with velvet seats and a big screen, feels like stepping back in time and way cozier than the multiplexes

If you're into a bit of hands-on stuff, try a private cooking class at Baipai Thai Cookery School just north of the city. It's set in a garden house away from the chaos, and you'll both learn to make a proper green curry or pad thai from scratch. The afternoon sessions are quieter and end with eating your creations together, which feels more personal than a packed restaurant. For something slower, rent a longtail boat from the pier at Tha Chang and ask them to take you through the smaller canals in Thonburi, you'll see old wooden houses and temple spires without the tourist crowds.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
