honestly if you want the absolute madhouse energy, skip the dedicated pubs and just hit Khao San Road. it's not an irish pub per se but the whole street turns into one giant St Paddy's mess with people dancing on tables and buckets of booze everywhere. O'Malley's is good but it gets so packed you'll spend half the night trying to get served, and the bouncers get strict about crowding. Khao San's chaos is more your speed if you're in your twenties and just want to rage with a mixed crowd of travelers. just watch out for the tuk tuk scams near the police box, they'll try to charge you 200 baht for a 50 baht ride

the pub on soi cowboy is actually worth checking if you want something different, it's called the irish bar and it gets wild with a mix of bargirls and expats doing shots of jameson off the bar. not as many irish lads as o'malleys but way more chaotic energy and you can stumble into the gogo bars after. just know the beer is like 150 baht a pint there which is steep for bangkok but you're paying for the atmosphere

O'Malley's on Silom is probably your best bet for pure chaos and crowd density, it gets absolutely packed with expats and tourists spilling out onto the street. Shenanigans is more of a sit-down sports bar vibe, good but not the same wall-to-wall madness. Khao San Road itself will be a total zoo of backpackers and that's a different kind of busy, but if you want a proper pub atmosphere with Irish guys, O'Malley's is where you'll find it. Just get there early or be prepared to queue for a drink.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
