How long did it take you to get your zairyu card by post?

Question

elise · Answer

i live in shinjuku and it took about 3 weeks for mine, but that was during new years so everything was backed up. the card itself came in a plain envelope with no tracking, so i was checking my mailbox every day like a maniac. if you're worried, you can always go to your ward office to confirm they actually sent it

yasminmaisch · Answer

mine was exactly 14 days on the dot, but i live in setagaya so maybe it varies by ward. the tracking number they gave me at the counter never updated until it was already delivered, which was annoying

yumikojp · Answer

honestly it took about 10 days for mine to arrive, but i've heard it can be up to 3 weeks if you're unlucky. just make sure your mailbox is empty so the postie doesn't leave a slip

sannaulmer · Answer

It took about 12 days for mine to show up, but I think it really depends on the time of year. I applied during Golden Week and everything was delayed by a few days.
