I'm coming to Manila in March on a tourist visa and want to stay about 5 months, mostly working remotely from cafes like Chang Coffee & Tea. Do I need to extend at the Bureau of Immigration first or should I apply for a long stay visa before I fly? Also what usually goes wrong with the paperwork once you're there?

Extend at BI Intramuros after arrival.

just get an ACR I-card sorted, six months is the cutoff
