Manila TIN number 2026: stuck on BIR form step

I'm stuck on which BIR form to file as a first-time applicant with no prior tax record, is it 1901 or 1902? Also can I start the process online through ORUS before I land, or do I need to be there in person at a BIR office?

1901 is for mixed income or self-employed, 1902 is pure compensation so that's yours. ORUS lets you register as a non-resident applicant but the TIN issuance still needs a biometrics and interview slot at the RDO, book it before you land.

biometrics slot fills up weeks out, book early

arrow_drop_up 5 arrow_drop_down

agree, slots at the bigger RDOs like Quezon City fill up fast. if u can, pick a smaller branch outside the metro core, wait times are way shorter. also check the ORUS appointment page on a weekday morning, they release new slots then

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

prob true for the metro branches, but smaller provincial RDOs usually have same week openings. might be worth widening your search if u can travel a bit.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Book the RDO nearest your employer's address, not your condo.

arrow_drop_up 9 arrow_drop_down

Makes sense since jurisdiction follows the employer's registered address on your 2305, so double-check that before booking.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

Correct, though the employer's 2305 address and their actual office sometimes differ, so ask HR which RDO their payroll is registered under.

arrow_drop_up 1 arrow_drop_down

yeah 1902 is right, but just fyi the biometrics & interview can sometimes be waived if ur employer files on ur behalf, worth asking them first

arrow_drop_up 2 arrow_drop_down

One thing to double check is that your 1902 has to be filed under the RDO covering your employer's address, so confirm that before picking a slot.

arrow_drop_up 0 arrow_drop_down

Non-resident registration on ORUS does work, though the account needs email verification that can take a day or two, so start it early. Also print the confirmation and bring two valid IDs to the slot, they turn people away for missing documents.

is Great Shakes Corporation worth a stop in Manila 2026

visiting manila next month & Great Shakes Corporation keeps popping up on my feed, is it actually worth a stop or just hype? also what should i order there visiting manila next month & Great Shakes Corporation keeps popping up on my feed, is it actually worth a stop or just hype? also what should i order there

the halo-halo, skip the shakes

arrow_drop_up 3 arrow_drop_down

I stopped by on a trip last year and honestly it's decent but not life changing. If you go, try their buko pie and the classic shake, those held up better than the fancy flavors. Go early since the queue gets long by midday.

classic shake over fancy flavors is the real tip, those ube ones look good but taste like pure sugar
