the sports club on sathorn has a badminton group that meets wednesday nights and saturday mornings, mostly thai players but they welcome anyone who shows up. just bring your own racket and shuttlecocks, they charge like 150 baht for two hours. also worth checking the british club down near silom, they have a social badminton night on thursdays and it's mostly expats who've been playing there for years

if you're near on nut, the badminton hall at happyland center off sukhumvit 50 is pretty solid. they have a group that plays friday evenings, mostly locals but a few expats show up too. 80 baht per person for two hours and they supply the shuttlecocks, just bring your racket. also the sports authority of thailand near hua mak has cheap courts at like 60 baht an hour but you gotta book through their line account, it's all in thai so use google translate

if u want something more central try the badminton hall at national stadium, bts national stadium exit. it's run by the sports authority and courts are like 100-150 baht per hour, way cheaper than the private clubs. booking is done in person at their counter and you gotta show up early morning for weekend slots, they fill up fast

there's also a small group that plays at the badminton courts inside Lumpini Park near the tennis area, usually saturday mornings around 9am. it's more casual pickup style, no booking needed, just bring ur racket and shuttlecocks

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
