My apartment located in small street and the exhaust sounds so annoying even sometime in the midnight. Don't mind my grammar, English isn't my first language

so its not really a law thing, more like there's a culture of modifying exhausts here that goes back decades. a lot of the tuktuks use old two stroke engines which are naturally loud, and some drivers straight pipe them for more power since they carry heavy loads. the bike guys are a different story, they install aftermarket pipes because they think it makes them look tough or faster

if you're near on nut or a similar area with lots of small sois, the sound echoes like crazy off the concrete walls. i'd suggest getting a white noise machine or a loud fan, and maybe talk to your landlord about double glazing. moving to a higher floor helps too if thats an option for you

yeah it's not like there's a specific law that allows loud exhausts for tuktuks or bikes. the noise is mostly just old engines that haven't been maintained well, plus some drivers mod them on purpose because they think it sounds cool. if you're in a small soi around sukhumvit or rattanakosin, the concrete buildings just bounce the sound around worse. you could try talking to your building manager about getting better windows, or look into renting a place on a dead-end soi instead of a through street

honestly its not really legal, they just dont enforce it. cops prob get paid off or just dont care. try earplugs or a fan for white noise

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
