I'm also planning to meet some people via Bumble and was wondering if anyone had any experience as a solo traveller, any tips on Thailand's culture, some places to visit, things to avoid and be cautious about?

For a solo trip, I'd suggest staying in an area like Ari or Phra Khanong instead of the usual Sukhumvit tourist spots. You'll get a better feel for the city and find local markets like Ari Market or W District that aren't packed with foreigners. On Bumble, be straightforward about wanting to explore local spots, Thai people appreciate honesty and it'll help you avoid the drink scam situation. Also, learn to say "mai ao" for "I don't want" when tuk-tuk drivers try to take you to suit shops or gem stores, they get a commission and it wastes your time.

Truth or Dare is fine but expect a lot of tourists and a cover charge. If you want actual local nightlife, head to Ekkamai or Thonglor for a more mixed crowd. For Bumble meets, stick to public spots like a rooftop bar or a cafe in Siam, and never let someone pick you up from your hotel on the first meet. Watch your drink and don't leave it unattended, that's standard anywhere but especially in nightlife areas like RCA or Soi Cowboy.

yeah truth or dare is fun but kinda touristy, check out sing sing theater for a more local vibe. just be careful with bumble hookups, some people might try to scam u for drinks or something. and watch ur stuff in crowded areas like khao san, pickpockets are a thing

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
