I have tended to stay in the Ekamai Somerset, but for larger rooms they were not that afforadble. Not sure if 100 usd for 2 people is a reasonable price.

Going to the subculture event in beginning of March.

I'd look at the Landmark on Sukhumvit 36, it's about a 5 minute walk from Ekamai BTS. The two bedroom units have a separate living room that works well for pregaming, and the kitchen is decent if you want to grab supplies from the MaxValu across the street. Prices usually sit around 90-110 USD a night for a 2BR, so your budget is realistic. For Subculture, being that close to the BTS means you can skip the traffic and just ride the skywalk to the event.

try the mantra on sukhumvit 8, it's a bit closer to phrom phong but still a quick motorbike ride to ekamai. 2br with a living area should run around 80-100 usd a night, depends on season. the rooms have a proper kitchenette so u can actually cook if u want, not just a kettle and microwave like some serviced places. for that subculture event, it's a solid base because u can walk to thong lor bars after but still have a quiet room to pregame in

Check out The Residence on Sukhumvit 26, it's a bit further down but still a quick taxi or motorbike to Ekamai. Two bedrooms with a decent living area run around 90-110 USD a night, and the rooms are pretty spacious for pregaming. The area's quieter than being right on Ekamai, so it's good for relaxing after the event.

yeah Krua Dok Mai Kao is solid but if you're up for a detour, try Som Tum Nua near Siam Square. their som tam pu pla ra is insane if you like the fermented fish sauce kick. way more pungent than the On Nut spot, just less grilled chicken options
